Setting Up the Enterasys Matrix N1 Chassis
Thefollowingsectionsdescribetheproceduresthatmustbefollowedtocompletetheinstallation
oftheEnterasys M atrix N1Chassis.
Order of Installation
Onceasuitablesitehasbeenchosen,theEnterasys Matrix N1Chassiscanbeinstalledasa
freestandingorrackmountedunit.
ItisrecommendedthattheEnterasys Matrix N1Chassisinstallationproceedinthefollowing
order:
1. Installtherubberfeet(forstandaloneinstallation).Fordetails,referto“InstallingtheRubber
Feet”onpage3.
2. Mount
thechassistoa48.26‐centimeter(19‐inch)rackorothersecurelocation.Fordetails,
referto“InstallingtheChassisintoaRack”onpage3.
3. AttachtheElectrost aticDischargewriststrap.Fordetails,referto“AttachingtheElectrostatic
DischargeWristStrap”onpage4.
Ifyouareinstallingthe
Enterasys Matrix N1Chassisasafreestandingdevice,startwith
“InstallingtheRubberFeet”onpage3.Toinstallthechassisinarack,rubberfeetarenotneeded.
