Configuring RoamAbout Switch Management Services
YoucanconfigurethefollowinginformationandmanagementservicesfortheRoamAbout
Switch:
•Systeminformation—Youcanspecifysystemcontactinformation,aswellastheCLIprompt
andthebannermessagethatappearsateachsession.
• HTTPS—Bydefault,HTTPSisenabled.TCPport443isusedforsecureaccessbyWeb View,
theEnterasys
web‐basedapplicationformanagingaRoamAboutSwitch.
•Telnet—Bydefault,Telnetisdisabled.YoucanenableTelnetforunencryptedaccesstothe
CLI.
•SSH—Bydefault,SSHisenabled.YoucanuseSSHforencryptedaccesstotheCLI.
•SNMP—Bydefault,SNAPisdisabled.YoucanconfigureSNAPcommunitystringsand
User
SecurityModel(USM)users,notificationprofiles,andnotificationtargets.
• Logging—Thesystemlogprovideseventinformationformonitoringandtroubleshooting.
YoucansendtheloginformationtoalocaldatabufferonaRo amAboutSwitch,totheconsole,
toaTelnetsession,andtoaconfiguredsetofsyslogservers.
• Tracing—Tracingallows

TomanageservicesonaRoamAboutSwitch:
1. SelecttheConfigurationtoolbaroption.
2. IntheOrganizerpanel,clicktheplussignnexttotheRoamAboutSwitch.
3. ClicktheplussignnexttoSystem.
4. SelectManagementServices.Themanagementservicesandtheirsettingsappearinthe
Content
panel.
Note: RASM communications also use HTTPS, but RASM is not affected by the HTTPS
configuration on the RoamAbout Switch. For RASM, HTTPS is always enabled and listens to
port 8889.
